MEDICAL EXAMS, ILLNESSES, & EMERGENCIES
An updated physical exam must be on file for your child annually. All immunization shots must be updated and a lead screening is strongly suggested by NYS Dept. of Social Services.
No prescribed medication will be administered to any child at the facility.
A child who comes to the daycare with an apparent illness such as pink eye, a rash, or a fever will need to be picked up by the parent. We understand the difficulty this may pose for working parents but it is done out of consideration for the children who are well. A child should stay home if they have the following syptoms:
-
FEVER
-
VOMITING
-
DIARRHEA
The child may return 24 hours returning to normal. If a child has an earache or cold, we ask that the child is kept home if the illness interferes with daily activity.
In the event a child contracts a communicable disease and exposes the other children, all parents will be notified when they pick up their child. the ill child will not be allowed to return to the daycare until the period of contagion has passed.
ACCIDENTS AND MEDICAL EMERGENCIES
All of the staff at LIttle Lamb Christian Daycare are certified in First Aid/CPR. If a medical emergency should arise that can not be handled within the daycare, your child will be transported to Cornwall Hospital Emergency room. You will be contacted as quickly as possible.
SUSPICION OF CHILD ABUSE New York State mandates that all childcare providers report any child neglect or maltreatment. At Little Lamb Christian Daycare, all staff are mandated to report any suspicion of abuse.
CHILD RELEASE Your child will only be released to contacts listed on the blue emergency card. If there are special circumstances where someone not listed on your blue card must pick up your child, you must submit written permission allowing your child to be released to this individual. Please note that the adult will be required to produce a photo ID at the time of pickup.

CLOTHING, BEDDING, & NAPS
The children will engage in daily activities that will be conducted indoors and outdoors. Please dress your child appropriately. A child should be dressed in comfortable apparel and proper footwear. a. an extra set of clothing (including undergarments) suitable for the
season, in a labeled bag;
b. extra sweater or jacket;
c. appropriate outer garments based on the temperature (hat, gloves,

Children will be encouraged to rest between the hours of 12:00pm-2:00pm. If a child does not want to sleep, a rest time will be encouraged during this time.

TOILET TRAINING
Age appropriate children will be encouraged to use the bathroom on regular intervals. We encourage parents to support the daycare's efforts by reinforcing the routine at home. Remember that toilet training should be done at the child's pace and should always be a positive experience.
